B. Award of Contract — Redwood City Recycled Water Project — Phase I — Redwood <br />Shores Distribution System — Bid Package 3 (Redwood Shores Parkway, Bridge <br />Parkway, Shell Parkway & Davit Lane) Project <br />Vice Mayor Foust, Chair of the Utilities Committee, stated that recycled water will <br />begin delivery to landscape customers in the Redwood Shores area beginning in <br />2007. She stated that both her and Council Member Aguirre would like to thank <br />their 4 Council colleagues, both current and former Mayors, present at the dais for <br />their's and the City Manager's foresight in sticking with their principles and the <br />future of the community to protect the water supply. <br />Council Member Hartnett stated that the City is at the level of usage now that is <br />below the amount that must be sold to us which means the conservation efforts <br />are going very well. <br />Council Member Ira stated that not long ago if we had experienced a drought we <br />would have had a 15% cut just to get back to the level of allotment from Hetch <br />Hetchy, then there would be further cuts to bring into compliance. He stated that <br />there would be a full report to Council in the near future. <br />Recommendation: <br />By motion, approve the Contact Documents and award the Contract for the <br />Redwood City Recycled Water Project — Phase I — Redwood Shores Distribution <br />System — Bid Package 3 (Redwood Shores Parkway, Bridge Parkway, Shell <br />Parkway & Davit Lane) Project to the lowest responsible bidder, K.J. Woods <br />Construction, Inc. of San Francisco, California, for their low bid of $4,124,000.00. <br />(304) MINUTE ORDER 06 -220 <br />C. Sport Fields Synthetic Turf Conversion Project at Marlin Park and Sandpiper Park <br />in Redwood Shores <br />Recommendation: <br />By motion, approve and authorize a consultant agreement with Beals Alliance for <br />providing professional design and engineering consulting services for the Sport <br />Fields Synthetic Turf Conversion Project at Marlin Park and Sandpiper Park in <br />Redwood Shores, in an amount not to exceed $106,720.00.
