<br />DES:djk 09/15/88 (#002/24) <br />O:tIGINAL <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10911 <br /> <br />SEP 1 9 1988 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE OF SODIUM <br />HYDROXIDE SOLUTION SUPPLY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.65 of the <br /> <br />Code of the City of Redwood City written bids were solicited <br /> <br />wi thout public advertisement for the purchase of approximately <br /> <br />59,716.8 pounds of sodium hydroxide in 50% solution for use in <br /> <br />the City I s odor control program for certain sanitary sewerage <br /> <br />facilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, three bids at the same unit price, to wit: $.20 per <br /> <br />pound, were received; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.70 of the <br /> <br />Code of the City of Redwood City, in the event of tie bids, <br /> <br />preference shall be given to local bidders; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The bid of Pressure Vessel Service, Inc., of Redwood <br /> <br />City, California, dated July 12, 1988, for the sale of sodium <br /> <br />hydroxide in 50% solution for the quantity of 59,716.8 pounds is <br /> <br />hereby accepted, and said bidder is hereby declared to be the <br /> <br />lowest responsible bidder for said materials, and any and all <br /> <br />irregularities in said bid are hereby waived. <br /> <br />2. All other bids, except the bid referenced in paragraph <br /> <br />1 hereof, are hereby rejected. <br /> <br />3. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />execute such purchase orders, or other contract documents as may <br /> <br />10911 <br />
