<br />DAS:nil 06/22/88 (#22) copy <br /> <br />SEP 1 2 1988 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />No.1090S <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHIEF OF POLICE TO ISSUE PERMIT <br />TO PROJECT PEGASUS FOR A "RUN FOR HEALTH" <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a Vehicle Code Sections 21100 and <br /> <br />21101, respectively, local authorities, by resolution, may adopt <br /> <br />rules and regulations regulating processions or assemblages on <br /> <br />streets under their jurisdiction, and temporarily closing a <br /> <br />portion of any street for celebrations, parades, local special <br /> <br />events and other purposes when deemed necessary for the safety <br /> <br />and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the <br /> <br />street during the temporary closing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Project Pegasus ("Pegasus") has requested that this <br /> <br />Council permit them to conduct a "Run for Health" in and along <br /> <br />certain hereinafter described City rights-of-way on September 18, <br /> <br />1988, and it is the intent and desire of this Council to permit <br /> <br />Pegasus to conduct said run, and to close rights-of-way, as <br /> <br />hereinafter set forth; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council does hereby grant to Pegasus the right to <br /> <br />conduct a "Run for Health" in the City of Redwood City on <br /> <br />September 18, 1988, and does hereby authorize and direct the <br /> <br />Chief of police to issue a permit to Pegasus for said purpose. <br /> <br />2. The permit so issued shall specify the exact time, <br /> <br />place and manner in which the events therein permitted may be <br /> <br />conducted. <br /> <br />The permit shall be in a form substantially similar <br /> <br />10908 <br />
