<br />SWC:nik 07/19/88 (#2l) <br />ORIGINAL <br />JUl 2 5 1988 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />10831 <br />N o. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHIEF OF POLICE TO ISSUE PERMIT <br />FOR THE MID-PENINSULA CORVETTE CAR SHOW <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Vehicle Code Sections 21100 and 21101, <br /> <br />respectively, local authorities, by resolution, may adopt rules <br /> <br />and regulations regulating processions or assemblages on streets <br /> <br />under their jurisdiction, and temporarily closing a portion of <br /> <br />any street for celebrations, parades, local special events and <br /> <br />other purposes when deemed necessary for the safety and <br /> <br />protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street <br /> <br />during the temporary closing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mid-Peninsula Corvette Car Club has requested that <br /> <br />this Council permit them to conduct the Mid-Peninsula Corvette <br /> <br />Car Show in and along certain hereinafter described City <br /> <br />rights-of-way on August 6, 1988, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and <br /> <br />it l.S the intent and desire of this Council to permit the <br /> <br />Mid-Peninsula Corvette Car Club to conduct said show, and to <br /> <br />close rights-of-way, as hereinafter set forth; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council does hereby grant to the Mid-Peninsula <br /> <br />Corvette Car Club the right to conduct the Mid-Peninsula Corvette <br /> <br />Car Show in the City of Redwood City on August 6, 1988, and does <br /> <br />hereby authorize and direct the Chief of Police to issue a permit <br /> <br />to the Mid-Peninsula Corvette Car Club for said purpose. <br /> <br />10831 <br />
