- ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 13533 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF COMMITMENT <br /> <br /> SILICON V,4LLEY 2010: <br /> A REGIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR GROWING TOGETHER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Silicon Valley is world-renowned for the innovative technologies and dynamic <br /> business environment that flourish here, and in this place once known as the Valley of Heart's <br /> Delight we have forged a remarkably diverse and prosperous society, yet we face major challenges <br /> as we move into the 21st century; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, working together collaboratively, across jurisdictions, across industries, across diverse <br /> communities and across sectors is essential to tackling regional challenges; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Silicon Valley 2010:.4 Regional Framework for Growing Together was developed <br /> with the participation of thousands of Silicon Valley residents by a Vision Leadership Team, and it <br /> is based on what people value about Silicon Valley as a place to live, learn, work and play; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Silicon Valley 2010:,4 Regional Framework for Growing Together outlines four key <br /> strategic directions for our future: <br /> Our innovative Economy Increases Productivity and Broadens Prosperity; <br /> Our Communities Protect the Natural Environment and Promote Livability; <br /> Our inclusive society Connects People to Opportunities; and <br /> Our Regional Stewardship Develops Shared Solutions; <br /> <br /> And commits to this vision: <br /> "We will use our entrepreneurial spirit to create a strong foundation of regional stewardship, <br /> so future generations can enjoy Silicon Valley's broad prosperity, healthy and attractive <br /> environment and inclusive communities." <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Redwood City approves this Resolution <br />of Commitment to working collaboratively on behalf of the Silicon Valley region and toward <br />realizing these strategic directions and vision of our shared future. <br /> <br /> Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a Regular Meeting <br />thereof held on the 4th day of January 1999, by the following votes: <br /> <br /> AYES: Claire, Hartnett, Ira, Jordan, Leipzig and Ruskin <br /> NOES: None <br /> A~ENT: Mayor Howard ~ <br />Cathleen~.,~.
