<br />i <br /> <br />CAREER LADDERS <br /> <br />One of the principal objectives of a classification study is to <br />identify career ladders. Career ladders improve the ability of the <br />City to manage its human resources and permit the upward mobility of <br />employees. As a result of this study, a library career ladder has <br />been identified and is depicted graphically in this section. When <br />reviewing the career ladder, it should be Icept in mind that it is <br />intended to ill ustrate potential career paths but are not intended <br />to indicate salary, organizational, or supervisory relationships. <br /> <br />Within the career ladder, those classes that are flexibly staffed <br />within a class series are shown inside a box within the career ladder <br />chart. <br /> <br />15 <br />
