We are a public charter high school located adjacent to Mid-Point
Technology Park on Broadway Street and have been unsuccessful in our efforts working with
SamTrans to get workable bus service to and from our school and the Redwood City CalTrain
station. We have a few teachers who live in San Francisco and commute on the train but it is our
students who would benefit most from having transportation to and from the Sequoia Station
location. . HTH Bayshore serves students in several parts of San Mateo County. CalTrain is a
fabulous, safe option but students-then need help with getting from the train to the school,
especially in the morning. OUf school hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

OUf ability to financially support the initiative will be limited due to our non-profit public school
status. As you well know, public funding for schools is already lower in California than in most
other states. However, we would like to encourage our students to use public transportation to
reduce the impact of car traffic on our neighborhood and to foster acclimation to using
alternatives to driving their own car as future adult citizens in our community.

We look forward to having the Commuter Shuttle service the Mid-Point Technology Park and
want to acknowledge city leaders for planning such a wise initiative for the community.

Sincerely.

~)4tc-:-

Linda Stevenin
Bay Area Regional Director of Outreach

HIgh TeCh High Bayshore
II .
