<br />6.-1C <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor amtCityCouncH <br />f. rqm thee'. . flI~na er <br />, '". -'--'. <br /> <br />January 8, 2007 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Agreement for Construction Management Services with Kitchell for the Redwood <br />Shores Community Library <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />By motion, approve the Agreement with Kitchell to provide eonstfootieA--management- <br />services for the Redwood Shores community Library project, in an amount not to <br />exceed $597,615.00. <br /> <br />Background <br />The Redwood Shores Community: Library wilt be a new 22, DOn square foot state of the <br />art library with book collections for children and adults, an interpretive center, open <br />area market place for books, children story telling area, and three multi-purpose rooms. <br />Kitchell has been involved with assisting the City in reviewing the construction <br />documents, and has provided pre-construction award services. <br /> <br />Kitchell is experienced_jn managing ..Iarge public war-ks pr.ojects and has recently <br />completed construction managementsefVices fOFthe .Sat:! Mateo High- Schoot District, <br />San Jose Unified School District, and a new public Library in the City of Fairfield. <br /> <br />Kitchell will be respoDsibte for assisting with the City review and process submittals, <br />review request for information, review and process change orders, review monthly <br />construction schedules, monitor the progress of the work, provide quality control, <br />process progress paymeJilts, and other "Co~truction management serviceS' as required. <br />With the separate procurement of the- fUfftttUfefor the new HbFary, Kitchell. wHt be- <br />responsible for managing almost $15 million worth of improvements. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />Council can elect to not approve this Agreement and thus, not authorize the consultant <br />to provide construction management services for the new Community Branch Library in <br />Redwood Shores.
