<br />6.2A <br /> <br /> <br />___..._.___..____._...._._..___.__.._....._..__~____..__._......._....__Page 1 <br /> <br />IREPORT <br />I <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />To the Honorable' Mayor and City-CouncUi <br />...._....__.._..~.___.____________._._.E_r.Q.~~~m~ity_ M~!!~geri <br /> <br />January 8, 2007 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance - Lagoon Intake Facility If Replacement Project - Phase" <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />By motion, accept the Lagoon Intake Facility 1\ Replacement Project - Phase II, and <br />authorize the release of bonds and retention per contract obligations. <br /> <br />Background <br />The Lagoon Intake Facility II is located near the intersection of Marine Parkway and <br />Shearwater Parkway. This facility is one of two intake structures designed for conveying <br />Bay water from the Belmont SIougl:1 into the interior lagoon of Redwood Shores. The <br />water then discharges back to the Bay through discharge facilities located at different <br />locations. <br /> <br />Work completed during Phase I. included instaUation of a connector pipe to a stub-out <br />from pipe installed during Phase I of this project. The newly installed 54" reinforced <br />concrete pipe allows water from the Belmont Slough to flow through the existing storm <br />drainage system to the Lagoon system. <br /> <br />City Council awarded the contract for this work to Proven Management, Inc. of San <br />Francisco, California on July 24, 2006, for an amount of $495,336.00. One change order <br />was issued for a credit of $2.490.00 resulting in an adjusted contract amount of <br />$492,846.00. <br /> <br />Al! work was completed in conformance with the Contract Documents, and to the <br />satisfaction of Engin~ring & Construction Services. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />Do not accept the Lagoon Intake Facility II Replacement Project-Phase II, which would be <br />contrary to prior Council action. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funds in the amount .of ..$1,354,000:00 were appropriated in the GID 1--64 Funds for <br />lagoon~: io~ improvements and related services. ~ 4 <br /> <br /> <br />M.
