<br />ST.\7C : d j k 4 / 14 / 8 7 <br /> <br />(#32) <br /> <br />The bidders DB and WBE information shall establish that the <br />DB and WBE goals will be met or that a good faith effort to meet <br />the goals has been made. <br /> <br />Bidders are cautioned that even though their submittal <br />indicates they will meet the stated DB and WBE goals, their <br />submittal should also include their good faith efforts <br />information along with their DB and WBE goals information to <br />protect their eligibility for award of the contract in the event <br />the City, in its review, finds that the goal has not been met. <br /> <br />The information to show that the DB and WBE goals will be <br />met shall include the names of DBs and WBEs to be used with a <br />complete description of work or supplies to be provided by each <br />and the dollar value of each such DB and WBE transaction. <br /> <br />The information necessary to establish the bidder's good <br />faith efforts to meet the DB and WBE goals should include: <br /> <br />(1) The names and date of advertisement of each newspaper, <br />trade paper, and minority-focus paper in which a <br />request for DB and WBE participation for this project <br />was placed by the bidder; <br /> <br />(2) The names and dates notices of all certified DBs and <br />WBEs solicited by direct mail for this project and the <br />dates and methods used for following up initial <br />solici tations to determine with certainty whether the <br />DBs or WBEs were interested. <br /> <br />(3) The items of work for which the bidder requested <br />subbids or materials to be supplied by DBs and WBEs, <br />the information furnished interested DBs and WBEs in <br />the way of plans, specifications and requirements for <br />the work, and any break down of items of work into <br />economically feasible units to facilitate DB or WBE <br />participation. Where there are DBs or WBEs available <br />for doing portions of the work normally performed by <br />the bidder with his own forces, the bidder will be <br />expected to make portions of such work available for <br />DBs or WBEs to bid on. <br /> <br />(4) The names of DBs and WBEs who submitted bids for any of <br />the work indicated in (3) which were not accepted, a <br />summary of the bidder's discussions and/or negotiations <br />with them, the name of the subcontractor or supplier <br />that was selected and the reasons for the bidder's <br />choice. If the reason for rejecting a DB or WBE bid <br />was price, give the price bid by the selected <br />subcontractor or supplier. Since the utilization of <br />available DBs and WBEs is expected, only significant <br /> <br />3 <br />
