<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE WORKER <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />Under supervision, to perform a variety of manual tasks in the maintenance of <br />parks and other areas, ballfield maintenance, and to do related work as <br />required. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the <br />following: <br /> <br />Assists landscape gardeners in the maintenance of landscaped grounds, <br />recreation and play areas, street islands and medians. May assist Forestry <br />crew with tree work throughout the City. <br /> <br />Water, weed, help trim, renovate, and fertilize shrubs, trees, flower beds, <br />and landscaped areas. <br /> <br />Rake leaves, clean up walkways, fields, and other facilities. <br /> <br />Assist with the planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs and flowers. <br /> <br />Pick up rubbish and paper, and perform general grounds cleaning. <br /> <br />Maintain and prepare athletic fields for softball, soccer, and football. <br /> <br />Drive vehicles used to transport materials, tools, and equipment as require. <br />Operate landscape maintenance and tree-trimming power equipment under <br />supervision. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in grounds <br />maintenance work. <br /> <br />Safe work practices. <br /> <br />Ability to: <br /> <br />Understand and carry out both oral and written directions. <br /> <br />Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted <br />in the performance of required duties. <br /> <br />Work weekends and odd hours as required. <br /> <br />EXPERIENE AND EDUCATION: <br /> <br />10509 <br />Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the . <br />required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. <br />
