<br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />Park Ranger (continu( <br />, <br /> <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />General principles and practices of park operations. <br /> <br />Nature and wildlife. <br /> <br />Principles of conservation: <br /> <br />Methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in park maintenance and <br />patrol. <br /> <br />Rules and regulations of City's parks and open space areas. <br /> <br />First Aid and CPR. <br /> <br />Basic law enforcement. <br /> <br />Ability to: <br />Read and write effectively. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Follow oral and written instructions. <br /> <br />Use sound judgement under routine and stressful situations. <br /> <br />Deal effectively with the public. <br /> <br />Work weekends, holidays, and evenings. <br /> <br />Experience and Education <br /> <br />Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide <br />the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way <br />to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> <br />Experience: <br /> <br />Two years of experience in park and open space operations and/or <br />land management. <br /> <br />Education: <br /> <br />Equivalent to an Associate of Arts degree in Park Maintenance, <br />Natural Science, Law Enforcement or a closely related field. <br /> <br />License or Certificate <br /> <br />Mus~ possess, or be able to obtain, a valid California Driver's <br />License and First Aid and CPR certification. <br />
