Gilpatrick <br />Belmont School District <br />2960 Hallmark Drive <br />Belmont, CA 94002 <br /> <br />Dear Dr. Gilpatrick: <br /> <br />Pursuant to California Education Code Section 39394, the <br />City of Redwood City ("City") hereby notifies you of City's <br />intention to purchase a portion of Belmont School District's <br />surplus school property sited at Dory Lane, ("School Site"). <br />This letter of intent serves as the City's "plan for the purchase <br />of surplus school property" within the meaning of Ca. Education <br />Code Section 39397.5. <br /> <br />School Site is legally described as: <br /> <br />Lot 23, Block "B", as shown on that certain map <br />entitled "Marlin Subdivision No.1, REDWOOD CITY, SAN <br />MATEO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA", filed in the office of the <br />Recorder of the County of San Mateo, State of <br />California, on June 13, 1969 in Book 69 of maps at <br />pages 43, 44, 45, 46, and 47. Containing 6.748 acres, <br />more or less. <br /> <br />That portion of the School Site which the City intends to <br />purchase, ("Purchase") is approximately two acres, and comprises <br />the rear :!: 131 feet of the School Site as represented on the <br />parcel map attached to this letter of intent. <br /> <br />The Purchase is 30% of the School Site and does not exceed <br />the 30% of "surplus school acreage" (as defined by Ca. Education <br />Code S39403(c)) limitations imposed by Ca. Education Code Section <br />39403(a) (b). Moreover, that portion of the School Site that the <br />City does not wish to purchase at the price established pursuant <br />to Ca. Education Code Section 39396, is at least 70% of the total <br />Belmont School District surplus acreage. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
