<br />Exhibit "A" <br /> <br />SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION CONSOLIDATED WITH NOVEMBER 1986 GENERAL ELECTION <br /> <br />The County Clerk will perform all legal actions and services for the conduct <br />of the election except the following: <br /> <br />SPECIFIED ELECTION ACTIONS OR SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY CITY CLERK <br /> <br />1. Request the Board of Supervisors to allow the County Clerk to perform <br />specified election services in connection with the November General <br />Election. Deadline to request services of County Clerk is 88 days <br />prior to the election or August 8, 1986. If a measure(s) is to be <br />voted on, exact wording of measure(s) must be filed by the 88th day <br />prior to election. <br /> <br />2. Legal Publications: <br /> <br />All legal publications are the responsibility of the City Clerk <br />including but not limited to: Notice of Election, Notice to File <br />Arguments for or Against, List of Nominees, etc. <br /> <br />NOTE: County Clerk will publish Election Officer and Polling Place <br />Notice one time in adjudicated newspaper. <br /> <br />3. Nomination Papers/Arguments: <br /> <br />City Clerk is to issue, file and check all Nomination/Argument Documents. <br /> <br />4. City Clerk is to certify List of Official Candidates (including number <br />to be elected, exact way each name is to appear on ballot and the ballot <br />designation) to the County Clerk at least 81 days prior to election. <br />The deadline to file this certification is August 15, 1986. <br /> <br />5. City Clerk is to prepare and deliver to the County Clerk the ballot <br />pamphlet containing, if applicable, Ballot Measure(s), Analysis of <br />Measure(s), Arguments For or Against, Rebuttals thereto and Candidate's <br />Statements (Statements of Qualifications). Due date of this material <br />at the Office of the County Clerk, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo is <br />September 29, 1986. <br /> <br />6. City Clerk is to advise County Clerk if any Write-In Candidate officially <br />files a Declaration of Candidacy. Notification is required as soon as <br />possible, or immediately after the 14th day prior to the election or <br />October 22, 1986. <br /> <br />TERMS AND CONSIDERATION <br /> <br />This schedule shall be in effect for the performance of all services incident <br />to the preparation and conduct of the City of Redwood City Special Municipal <br />Election consolidated with the November General Election to be held <br />November 4, 1986, except services listed as required by City Clerk. <br /> <br />In the event the County is unable to perform services required under this <br />Agreement, as a result of employer/employee relation conditions, vendor <br />conditions or other conditions beyond the control of the County Clerk, the <br />County will be relieved of all obligations under this Agreement. <br />
