<br />SWC:djc 7/31/86 <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />OFFICERS. <br /> <br />The Committee shall elect such officers as <br /> <br />it deems appropriate to carry out its duties. <br /> <br />5. STAFF SUPPORT. The City's Traffic Engineer shall serve <br /> <br />as staff advisor to the Committee, and shall provide staff and <br /> <br />support assistance as necessary to assist the Committee in its <br /> <br />duties. The Traffic Engineer or his or her representative shall <br /> <br />be present at each meeting of the Committee. The Chief of Police <br /> <br />or his or her designated representative shall also be present at <br /> <br />each meeting. <br /> <br />In addition, such other members of the City staff <br /> <br />as the Committee from time to time may request shall attend its <br /> <br />meetings. <br /> <br />6. DUTIES. The Committee shall advise the City Council on <br /> <br />short-term and long-range traffic, transportation and parking <br /> <br />matters that affect the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />Specifically the <br /> <br />Committee shall: <br /> <br />(a) Review <br /> <br />staff <br /> <br />recommendations <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />prepare <br /> <br />recommendations to the City Council on the following <br /> <br />matters: <br /> <br />(i) Speed limit changes; <br />(ii) Crossing guard requests; <br /> <br />(iii) Transportation Systems Management ("TSM") <br />measures; <br /> <br />(iv) Stop and yield signs; <br /> <br />(v) Parking regulations; <br /> <br />(vi) Other traffic requests not resolved at staff <br />level. <br /> <br />2 <br />
