The inspection is being done with the
Redwood City police Department, Sergeant Mike Turturicci, on scene
at 1137 hours.

The front of residence shows to be in a poor state of repair with
grass having gone to seed and building needing paint and
maintenance. Initial actions were to go to the next door neighbor
and view the property from the neighbor's back porch from which we
observed a tremendous amount of combustible brush and garbage in
the brtck yard and deck area. We then proceeded to the outside of
the structure where we climbed on to the balcony of the front
windows and observed inside the upstairs bedrooms. They were
filled with combustible garbage to three feet high off of the
floor, as well as visible signs of human waste being spattered
around the room and walls.

In the process of inspecting, the son of the owner came by and
advised us that he was going to get his mother. His mother showed
up about 1155 hours. Mrs. Goldman is the owner of the property,
and we advised her of our mutual concerns. I advised Mrs.
Goldman, on part of the Fire Department, that we were issuing a
final notice of fire hazard, to be abated by Friday, July 18,
1986. Also, that the Fire Department would be filling out a
citation that would be immediately serviceable pending compliance
with the notice of fire hazard. Final action to occur was to
advise Mrs. Goldman that her property would be posted "UNSAFE TO
OCCUPY-DO NOT ENTER", and that from the Fire Department's
viewpoint the property could not be entered (even for clean-up)
until clearance was obtained from the Health Department. The Fire
Department would then be satisfied that it was a safe working
atmosphere knowing the materials inside and the particular
qualifications of the clean-up company involved.
