<br />DAS: sh <br />DAS:sh <br /> <br />7/17/86 <br />7/] 8/86R <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />JUL 2 1 1986 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10260 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING BID FOR WORK COSTING LESS THAN <br />TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00) SUBSEQUENT TO THE <br />SOLICITATION OF WRITTEN BIDS WITHOUT PUBLIC <br />ADVERTISEMENT, PURSUANT TO CITY OF REDWOOD CITY CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES SECTION 2.65, IN CONNECTION WITH CONTROLLING <br />"WIDGEON GRASS" A WATER WEED AT REDWOOD SHORES INTERIOR <br />WATERWAY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an infestation of "widgeon grass", a noxious water <br /> <br />weed, has recently occurred at the Redwood Shores Interior <br /> <br />Waterway; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a widgeon grass control program must be implemented <br /> <br />quickly or the said grass could infest the entire Redwood Shores <br /> <br />Interior Waterway, imperil aquatic life and create serious safety <br /> <br />problems for boaters and swimmers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, solicitation without public advertisement of bids <br /> <br />for spraying and/or applying the chemical aquazine, which has <br /> <br />proven effective in the control of widgeon grass, has been <br /> <br />conducted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Aquatics <br /> <br />Unlimited, <br /> <br />Concord, <br /> <br />California, <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />singularly qualified to apply the chemical aquazine; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Aquatics Unlimited is willing to provide the <br /> <br />service and scope of work required to control widgeon grass at a <br /> <br />price equivalent to that being charged to other cities in San <br /> <br />Mateo County; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council hereby determines and declares that, <br /> <br />pursuant to Section 2.65 of the City of Redwood City Code of <br /> <br />10260 <br />
