<br />SWC:sh 5/1/86 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />!iQ.I0203 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />MAY 5 1986 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER <br />APPLICATION FOR OLDER AMERICANS ACT <br />COUNTY AREA AGENCY ON AGING <br /> <br />TO SUmlIT <br />FUNDS FROM <br /> <br />AN <br />THE <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL BY THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to <br /> <br />apply, on behalf of the City of Redwood City, to the San Mateo <br /> <br />County Area Agency on Aging for funds available through the Older <br /> <br />Americans Act of 1964, as amended (USC Sections 3001 et seq.) for <br /> <br />the purpose of funding senior programs at the Veterans Memorial <br /> <br />Senior Center and the Fair Oaks Senior Center. <br /> <br />2. This Council does hereby concur with the sentiments <br /> <br />expressed by the Senior Affairs Commission, and does hereby <br /> <br />express its concern at the proposed reductions in funding for <br /> <br />senior programs at a time when the senior population is the <br /> <br />fastest growing segment of our community. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />0203 <br />
