<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR (Traffic/Electrical Systemsl <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To plan, organize, direct, and review the activities of an assigned section in <br />the Maintenance and Operations Division of the Public Works Department: <br />water, pump, street, sewer, Or traffic/electrical; to Supervise assigned <br />crews; and to perform technically complex maintenance duties. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />General direction is provided by the Public Works Superintendent. <br /> <br />Responsibilities include direct and indirect SuperVision OVer personnel in an <br />assigned section. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the <br />following: <br /> <br />Assist in development and implementing goals, objectives, policies and <br />priorities for the Division and assigned section. <br /> <br />Plan, direct, Coordinate and review the work of Public Works employees in <br />traffic signal, street lighting, electrical facilities, traffic <br />painting/signing, and repair and installation construction. <br /> <br />Requisition necessary equipment and materials. <br /> <br />Maintain time and materials records; prepare work reports and cost reCords. <br /> <br />Train and instruct SUbordinates. <br /> <br />Recommend and enforce safety requirements. <br /> <br />Investigate complaints and suggest corrective actions; study maintenance <br />functions and recommend improvements. <br /> <br />Interview SUbordinates at various phases of the work and give them Specific <br />orders, discuss work progress and ascertain the amount of materials and <br />supplies needed. <br /> <br />Prepare budget estimates and other requested reports. <br /> <br />Evaluate SUbordinates' performance and prepare required reports. <br /> <br />Perform skilled electric/electronic maintenance and repair on traffic Signal <br />systems. <br /> <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
