Alternatives

1. The City Council could choose not to authorize the extension of the Abandoned Vehicle
Abatement Program through April 2012. The selection of this alternative would preclude
the City's continued participation in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program. As a
result, the City would thereby be denied financial reimbursement for the removal of
abandoned vehicles from City streets.

Fiscal Impact
In FY01/02, the AVAP generated $73,238.68 in reimbursements to the Redwood City Police
Department. Future reimbursements are anticipated to remain consistent with the FY01/02
level.

Attachment
None

Ed Hernandez ~ ' Ronald R.
