<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />CRIME ANALYST <br /> <br />Definition <br /> <br />To supervise the police computer information system operation; to conduct <br />analytical reports on police operations; to conduct criminal research and <br />analysis; to perform statistical evaluation for crime prevention activities; <br />to conduct manpower util ization and alloeation reports. <br /> <br />~~~r.\~i~ion Received and Exercised <br /> <br />Direction is provided by Administrative Services Lieutenant. <br /> <br />Respofisibilities include direct and indirect supervision over technical and <br />cleriul staff. <br /> <br />Exa..~LJ.es of Duties - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the <br />following: <br /> <br />Supervise daily operations of the police computer information system. <br /> <br />Perform and provide the Police Department with analytical reports on the <br />effectiveness and efficienccy of police operations. <br /> <br />Conduct eriminal research and analysis, to inelude the compiling and <br />analysis, to include the eompiling and analyzing of crime trends and other <br />pertinent data. <br /> <br />Perform statistical evaluation of crime prevention activities. <br /> <br />Conduct manpower utilization and allocation studies. <br /> <br />Perform related administrative duties as assigned. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Knowledge of: <br /> <br />Administrative research and analysis. <br /> <br />Statistics and how to apply them. <br /> <br />Automated data systems. <br /> <br />Programming. <br /> <br />Supervisory techniques. <br /> <br />Page I of 2 <br />
