<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />POLICE EVIDENCE TECHNICIAN <br /> <br />DefinHion <br /> <br />To perform responsible technical, elerical, and laboratory work related to <br />polic(~ photography; record and analyze crime scenes; reeord and classify <br />fingel prints; eontrol of evidence and property under poliee jurisdiction; and <br />to pe, form related duties as required. <br /> <br />Super~ision Reeeived and Exereised <br /> <br />Generul direction is provided by the Administrative Serviees Lieutenant. <br /> <br />Responsibilities include direct and indirect supervision over personnel in an <br />assigned section. <br /> <br />!!~m~~~Duties - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the <br />following: <br /> <br />Recording and analyzing erime scenes. <br /> <br />Recording and classifying fingerprints. <br /> <br />Control of evidence and property under police jurisdiction. <br /> <br />Examine erime scenes and identify, eollect, and preserve physical evidence. <br /> <br />Photograph and perform physieal and ehemical analysis of evidence. <br /> <br />Conduct firearms examination. <br /> <br />Make fingerprint eomparisons and elassifieations. <br /> <br />Prepare evidence, exhibits, and reports and give testimony in court on test <br />results and findings. <br /> <br />May instruct employees on methods of collecting and processing evidence <br />without eontamination. <br /> <br />~ay be responsible for the supervls10n of the property storage and release <br />system for the Police Department. <br /> <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
