WHEREAS, the City Manager's and Engineer's Reports, heretofore <br />approved by Resolution No. 13107 adopted June 9, 1997, were not amended or <br />modified as a consequence of the aforesaid hearing, or otherwise, and approval <br />of said Reports, and each of them, was confirmed, and the Assessment Roll <br />prepared for the proposed assessment, and each of the assessments therein <br />described were approved, confirmed, and adopted; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, annually, in accordance with the formula approved in said <br />City Manager's and Engineer's Reports, said assessments is authorized to be <br />levied in successive fiscal years without further election or other approval by <br />owners of the property to be assessed; provided that the assessment in <br />subsequent fiscal years is subject to an increase calculated as the greater of <br />the compound rate of 2 percent annually or the compound rate of increase in <br />compensation for the position of Landscape Gardener as that position is <br />classified and described in the City of Redwood City's competitive service or <br />merit personnel system, but in no event in excess of 3.5 percent in any such <br />succeeding fiscal year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 13148, entitled, "Resolution Declaring <br />Tabulation of Votes upon the Question of Approval of Assessments; Finding <br />That No Majority Protest Has Been Made to the Levy of Assessments; <br />Confirming City Manager's and Engineer's Reports and Ordering Special Benefit <br />Assessment to Be Levied and Collected Redwood Shores Landscape <br />Maintenance District No. 1995-1," adopted on July 28, 1997, the City Manager <br /> <br />Reso-.432 3 <br />F:lShared/Redwood/Coun¢il <br />FXS/fs <br />o~ 13377 <br /> <br /> <br />
