<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To perform law enforcement support functions; to take reports, <br />investigate traffic accidents, conduct fraud investigations, <br />perform parking violation enforcement, tow vehicles; perform crime <br />prevention, and communications. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Receives general supervision from duty shift Sergeant and <br />Lieutenant. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited <br />to, the following, <br /> <br />Perform law enforcement support functions. <br /> <br />Take reports. <br /> <br />Investigate traffic accidents. <br /> <br />Conduct fraud investigations. <br /> <br />Write parking citations; enforce parking violations. <br />Tow vehicles. <br /> <br />Perform crime prevention tasks. <br /> <br />Communication dispatching duties on an emergency basis. <br /> <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Knowl edge of: <br />Effective communication techniques. <br /> <br />Ab i 1 ity to: <br /> <br />Read and comprehend written directions, to understand <br />and properly apply penal and vehicle codes. <br /> <br />Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
