EXHIBIT A <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> SCHOOL LIBRARY MEDIA PROJECT DIRECTOR <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To manage, direct and coordinate media services within the Redwood City School District, <br />including supervising various school libraries and associated personnel; to provide training <br />and professional development to staff; to ensure that library services are responsive to school <br />needs; and to make effective usc of appropriate technologies in thc provision of school <br />library services. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Direction is provided the Library Director. <br /> <br />May exercise functional and/or indirect supervision over professional, technical, and clerical <br />staff and volunteers. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES <br /> <br />Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following <br /> <br />1. Develop goals, policies, and priorities for the school library media project; assess needs <br /> of libraries, and recommend and implement changes as needed. <br /> <br />2. Plan and develop school library media centers which are consistent with goal/objectives <br /> of the program. <br /> <br />3. Develop resources for financial support to the program by identifying and soliciting funds <br /> from outside sources, such as private donations, corporations, foundations, local <br /> business, and tax supported revenue sources. <br /> <br />4. Collect and analyze data regarding the media resources within the program. <br /> <br />5. Meet with individuals, school officials, and community members to analyze community <br /> needs for library services; develop services and activities that are responsive to these <br /> needs; represent the City in the community. <br /> <br />6. Mainta'm working relationships with school district officials, school library site <br /> personnel, volunteers, and Redwood City Library staff. <br /> <br /> 7. Select, train, motivate, and evaluate full/part-time and casual personnel; provide or <br /> coordinate training for school library staff and volunteers. <br /> <br /> 13336 <br /> <br /> ! <br /> <br /> <br />
