19.1.9 An employee employed by the City on 3anuary 1, 1988 or <br /> thereefter, who retires under the retirement plan provided by <br /> Redwood City and has twenty (20) years of service may conUnue to <br /> partidpate in one of the Oty's medical insurance plans at his/her <br /> own expense. In the event the employee should elect medical <br /> insurance under the PEPS Health Plan, the Oty shall contribute on <br /> behalf of these employees a minimum of sixteen ($16.00) per <br /> month towards PEPS medical insurance plans. <br /> <br />19.1.10 Effective .lanuary 1, 1999, for L4FF members employed by the Oty <br /> who have twenty (20) years of service and retire under the Cib/s <br /> retirement plan, the maximum Oty contribution toward health plan <br /> coverage shall be equal to the percent or premium paid for a <br /> current employee, for the same plan. For [AFl= members retired <br /> prior to 3anuary 1, 1988, the Ob/shall pay the cost of health plans <br /> in accordance with the applicable HOU or Oty practice in effect at <br /> the time of retirement. <br /> <br />19.1.11 All costs incurred by the Oty to maintain the PEPS Health Benefits <br /> Plan In compliance with Govemment Code Section 22751, et seq., <br /> and all costs incurred by the Oty to maintain the Cafeteria Plan in <br /> compliance with [RS Code Section 125, shall be paid from the <br /> aforementioned monthly dollar caps identified in Sections 19.1.4, <br /> 17.1.55, 17.1.6. Such costs include, but are not limited to, <br /> premiums,, surcharges, and/or admini=b,~ldve fees. <br /> <br />19.1.12 In the event there are any costs not charged to the City due to <br /> delays by PEPS and/or other administrative agendes in calculating <br /> or reporting these costs, said costs shall be carried over and <br /> charged as adminiabetive costs to the following plan year and <br /> deducted from the aforementioned monthly dollar caps accordingly. <br /> <br />19.1.13 An employee who is receiving a disability retirement due to a work <br /> related illness or injury, shall receive paid medical benefits provided <br /> that the employee is not eligible for similar benefits through a <br /> spouse's health plan. <br /> <br /> Whenever the above eligibility criteria is met, the City will provide <br /> medical benefits at the same benefit tier (single, two-party, family) <br /> which the employee would have been receiving if he/she had <br /> continued as an active employee. <br /> <br /> 19.1.14 Effective with the first open enrollment available after the adoption <br /> of the HOU, an employee who elects no health plan coverage and <br /> provides evidence of other coverage during annual open enrollment, <br /> as a health savings/cash option, the Oty and the employee shall <br /> share equally the amount designated In Section 19.1.4, 19.1.5 <br /> above as the Oty's total maximum combined monthly contribution. <br /> <br /> <br />
