· ~' 24.6 Garnishments <br /> <br /> Effe~ve April 1, 1988, whenever the City is compelled by appropriate legal <br /> prote~_$ to implement a garnishment on the wages of an employee more than <br /> once, for each garnishment beyond the odginal one, the City shall be entitled <br /> to deduct from the paycheck of the employee a service charge in the amount <br /> of twenty five dollars ($25.00) for setting up the procedure. <br /> <br /> 24,7 Shift Trades <br /> <br /> The Oty agrees that employees who are assigned to the Rre Unit may, with the <br /> wdtten approval of their supervisor, trade duty pedods or portions thereof with <br /> qualified employees in the same dassificaflon. The authorizing offidal shall <br /> determine the qualifications of the employee involved in the trade. The Union <br /> agrees that all trades between employees shall be repaid within twelve (12) <br /> months and shall not involve any additional compensation to the employees <br /> involved. <br /> <br /> NI requests for shi~ trades over one (1) hour shall require the completion of <br /> the approved Rre Depaib~ent form and must be approved by the employee's <br /> immediate supervisor. <br /> <br /> When an employee completes and signs the approved Fire Department form, <br /> he/she accepts full responsibility for the scheduled trade day. If the employee <br /> fails to fulfill the agreement he/she will be held accountable the same as if it <br /> were their regular scheduled work time. <br /> <br /> 24.8 Routine Work Assignments <br /> <br /> Tt is the prectJce of the Redwood City Fire Department to complete routine <br /> work assignments prior to 1700 hours each day. <br /> <br /> While this practice is normally adhered to, operational problems and training <br /> needs must also be considered. Fire fighting personnel assigned to a twenty- <br /> four (24) hour shi~c are expected to be ready to respond to any emergency <br /> which occurs during the shift. Shift personnel are expected to maintain the <br /> equipment and the station in proper order so that they can respond to fire and <br /> emergency calls at all times. <br /> <br /> Routine duties will normally be completed prior to 1700 hours. Night training, <br /> which prepares fire fighting personnel for night time emergency operation, may <br /> be scheduled for after 1700 hours. <br /> <br /> The training program will regularly be evaluated to insure that the program is <br /> effective and that desired results are achieved. <br /> <br /> On New Year~s, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas the normal routine Fire <br /> Deparb,,ent duties shall be suspended. <br /> <br /> <br />
