Employees may work on personal projects after 1700 provided that any work <br /> related to motor vehicles other than washing and cleaning of the vehicle is <br /> prohibited and personal projects do not interfere with scheduled Department <br /> activities. Work on personal projects is to be immediately foregone in case of <br /> an emergency call. <br /> <br /> SECT/ON 25 - APPARATUS STAFFING <br /> <br />The City shall assign three (3) Fire Fighting personnel to operate each engine company <br />or ladder truck (four (4) effective with the opening of the Redwood Shores Station), two <br />(2) Rre Rghters to operate each reserve truck and one (1) firefighter to operate each <br />rescue truck dispatched for emergency service. <br /> <br />Depending on the number of personnel on duty, staffing for each station may vary. <br />Employees may refer to Operations Manual Division 5, Article 5-7, and "Apparatus <br />Staffing." <br /> <br />It is agreed that reference to a minimum number of on-duty suppression personnel shall <br />be deleted from the departmental rules and all other City documents, and the <br />requirement to maintain any such minimum is no longer in effect. <br /> <br /> SECTZON 26 - PHYSZCAL FTrNESS PROGRAI~I <br /> <br />The City shall continue during the term of this MOt the mandatory Physical Fitness <br />Program for all Fire Rghters and Fire Captains who are assigned to a twenty-four (24) <br />hour work shift. There shall be no cost to the City for the Physical Rtness Program, and <br />it shall normally be conducted between the hours of 0830 and 0930 hours, but the <br />company officer may determine other times for physical activity as needed. <br /> <br />The parties agree that the Safety Committee can establish guidelines on any prohibited <br />physical fitness activities. <br /> <br /> SECTZON 27 - DRUG-FREE FZRE PROTECT/ON SERVZC_~E$ <br /> <br />The Parties agree that providing fire protection and emergency services to the <br />community, and the illegal use or possession by Fire Fighters of drugs, are incompatible <br />and unacceptable. <br /> <br />It is the obligation of employees not to be impaired due to drug use when they are to <br />report for, or when they are on duty; not to possess illegal drugs or to possess <br />prescription drugs without a bona fide prescription dudng duty hours or while on City <br />property; not to directly or indirectly sell or provide impairing drugs to a fellow employee <br />while either or both employees are on duty, except in the proper course of providing <br />emergency medical care to such fellow employees; and to notify his/her supervisor, <br /> <br /> 48 <br /> <br /> <br />
