EXIIIl1IT A A~ Main Library Parking and Community Area Reconfiguration/Renovation Project Conceptual Design SCOPE OF WORK Task 1 Project Initiation and Analysis The work in Task 1 includes finalizing the scope of work, developing the project schedule and the in-house project administration and management. MIG will meet with the City to initiate the project if necessary to supplement the preliminary meeting of January 4. MIG will collect and receive from the City data pertinent to the site including survey and area context information. MIG will conduct a site visit to inventory existing conditions. MIG will review library programs, existing and proposed as far as is known in order to understand the desired potential uses for the area. Task 2 Concept Plans Based on the information collected and analyzed in Task 1, MIG will prepare for approval by the City Staff, a Site Program detailing the proposed and potential uses for the area. Upon approval of the Site Program, MIG will develop a Preliminary Conceptual Design Plan with Alternative Features showing area layout and connections to the library and parking, existing and new planting, site furnishings and other features. MIG will prepare preliminary cost information for the Plan. MIG will present this plan for discussion with City Staff. Per the direction of City Staff, MIG will revise the plan as required for presentation to a community meeting. MIG will assist the City Staff in planning the meeting and attend the meeting to present the Preliminary Concept Plan as required. MIG will prepare notes from the meeting and debrief with the City Staff to determine the Preferred Alternative Plan. Per this direction, MIGwill finalize the Conceptual Design Plan and Cost Estimate for presentation to the Recreation and Parks Commission and the City Council. Optional Tasks The basic project steps are outlined above. In addition there are several optional tasks that we can suggest to increase the depth of the design. . There may be an opportunity to further involve the library board and library staff in the development of the vision for the area to completely integrate library programs and space with the outdoors to achieve the most use possible. . Some features of the Conceptual Plan may be developed as part of the desired vision that will be outside of the current available funding. A fund raising effort
