<br />SWC:sh 6/7/85 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />~ 8~6 <br /> <br />JUN 1 0 1985 <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING GRANT APPLICATION <br />FOR LIBRARY SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION ACT FUNDS FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION OF MAIN LIBRARY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the California State Library is making construction <br /> <br />grants available to agencies for public library construction; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has previously approved in concept the <br /> <br />construction of a new main library, upon a determination that the <br /> <br />present main library, built in 1939, is inadequate to serve the <br /> <br />needs of Redwood City Library users; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as required by said Grant Program, the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City has available matching funds for the construction <br /> <br />for which state funding is hereby being requested; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />I. This Council hereby approves the Grant Application of <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City for library services and construction <br /> <br />act funds for construction of a new main library. <br /> <br />2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />sign all documents <br /> <br />required <br /> <br />for the <br /> <br />submission of <br /> <br />such <br /> <br />application, and the receipt of such funds. <br /> <br />3.
