<br />DCB:sh 6/6/85 <br /> <br />JON 1 0 1985 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />y 8Y 5 <br /> <br />ORIGI NAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AMENDMENT TO THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH PENINSULA <br />LIBRARY SYSTEMS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City adopted Resolution 6081 on August 25, <br /> <br />1969, which approved the participation in a cooperative library <br /> <br />system known as Peninsula Library System (hereinafter "PLS") with <br /> <br />the Cities of Burlingame, Daly City, Menlo Park, San Bruno, San <br /> <br />Mateo, South San Francisco, and the County of San Mateo; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City adopted Resolution No. 9105 on May 3, 1982, <br /> <br />which approved participation in a second joint exercise of powers <br /> <br />called Peninsula Library Automated Network (hereinafter "PLAN") <br /> <br />for the purpose of negotiating the purchase of shared automated <br /> <br />circulation system for certain libraries within San Mateo County; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Council an <br /> <br />amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement of the Peninsula Library <br /> <br />System in order to merge PLAN with PLS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council to approve the <br /> <br />merger of PLAN with PLS; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS <br /> <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />I. That certain amendment to the agreement entitled, <br /> <br />"Amendment to the Joint Powers Peninsula Library System" (form <br /> <br />dated 6/3/85) by and between the signatures thereto, including <br /> <br />the City of Redwood City, for cooperative library services, a <br /> <br />copy of the amendment to the agreement is on file in the office <br /> <br />of the City Clerk, to which the amendment reference is hereby <br /> <br />}J t; ~ 5 <br />
