<br />SWC:sh 4/18/85 <br /> <br />r". .-.. , r'll\IAI: <br />Uf{iG,it ~ <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9857 <br /> <br />APR 2 2 1985 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONDEMNING BUILDINGS AT 121 AND 131 MONROE <br />STREET PUBLIC NUISANCE AND DIRECTING RECONSTRUCTION OR <br />RE!>lOVAL THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department of this City has determined <br /> <br />that the buildings located at 121 and 131 Monroe Street are a <br /> <br />public nuisance as defined by Section 9.6 of the Redwood City <br /> <br />Code because of serious and numerous violations of the Fire Code, <br /> <br />Uniform Building Code, Uniform Housing Code, Uniform Plumbing <br /> <br />Code, and the Electrical Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building department has given notice as <br /> <br />evidenced by attached "Exhibit A" to the owner of the buildings <br /> <br />at 121 and 131 Monroe Street to appear before this City Council <br /> <br />to show cause, if any he has, why such buildings should not be <br /> <br />declared to be a public nuisance and abated in accordance with <br /> <br />the provisions of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has received extensive evidence that <br /> <br />many violations of the Fire Code, Uniform Building Code, Uniform <br /> <br />Housing Code, uniform Plumbing Code, and the Electrical Code <br /> <br />exist in the buildings at 121 and 131 Monroe Street in the City <br /> <br />of Redwood City; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The buildings at 121 and 131 Monroe Street are hereby <br /> <br />determined to be a public nuisance because such buildings <br /> <br />constitute a fire hazard and because such buildings endanger the <br /> <br />life, health, property and safety of the occupants of such <br /> <br />9 ~.., k..-."'...... )"~ <br />C,., I <br />
