EXHIBIT A <br />FINDING OF FACTS <br />Geological I - The region is located in an area of high seismic activities as indicated by <br />United States Geological Survey and California Division of Mines and Geology. Recent <br />earthquake activities have indicated the lack of adequate design and detailing as a <br />contributing factor to damages that reduced the protection of the life- safety of building <br />occupants. <br />Redwood City Code Sections 9.43, 9.60 -9.82, 9.141, 9.142 <br />Geological II - The region is located in an area of high seismic activities as indicated by <br />United States Geological Survey and California Division of Mines and Geology. Recent <br />earthquake activities have indicated the lack of flexibility of materials and /or building <br />systems has been a contributing factor to damages that reduced the protection of the life- <br />safety of building occupants and increased the cost of rehabilitation of structures. <br />Redwood City Code Sections 9.83, 9.144, 9.148 <br />Geological III — Redwood City has an area underlain with Younger Bay Mud which is <br />corrosive to metallic piping systems and impacts the grading and design of structures. <br />Redwood City Code Sections 9.120, 9.122- 9.126, 9.143, 9.149 -9.154 <br />Climatic I - The region is within a climate zone that requires compliance with energy <br />efficiency standards for building construction.
