<br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. <br /> <br />9833 <br /> <br />COpy <br />MAR 2 5 1985 <br /> <br />EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION S A COMMUNITY AFFAIR <br /> <br />Whereas, the education of child en is a community affair with <br />elected representatives serving as pol.cy makers; and <br /> <br />Whereas, the community entrusts its elected officials to represent <br />its interest on behalf of the welfare nd education of children; and <br /> <br />Whereas, the education and training of children has a significant <br />impact on the quality of life througho t the community; and <br /> <br />Whereas, local businesses, agencies, and industries have a vested <br />interest in education and depend on an educated work force; and <br /> <br />Whereas, the parents and other citizens are entitled to know about <br />educat iona 1 programs supported through pub li c tax fu nd s, and <br /> <br />Whereas, the community depends 0 the local school district to <br />provide the most excellent education 1 experience possible with the <br />available resources; and <br /> <br />Whereas, the Redwood City School District invites the participation <br />of all segments of the community to pa ticipate in a commitment to ex- <br />cellence in education at an all day co ference to be held at McKinley <br />Schoo 1; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, that <br />April 27, 1985, is proclaimed <br /> <br />EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION IS A COMMUNITY AFFAIR DAY <br /> <br />in Redwood City and all citizens are u ged to participate. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Passed and adopted by the Counc i 1 of he City of Redwood City at its <br />meeting of March 25, 1985. <br /> <br />9833 <br />
