<br />DCB:rb 8/30/84 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9695 <br /> <br />OCT <br /> <br />1 1984 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONDEMNING BUILDING AT 67 CHARTER STREET AS <br />A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND DIRECTING RECONSTRUCTION OR <br />REMOVAL THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department of this City has <br /> <br />determined that the buildings which are located at 67 Charter <br /> <br />Street are a public nuisance as defined by Sections 9.5 of the <br /> <br />Redwood City Code because the buildings have become manifestly <br /> <br />unsafe for the purpose for which they were being used; the <br /> <br />buildings exist and are maintained in violation of specific <br /> <br />requirements and prohibitions applicable to such building <br /> <br />regulations of the City; the buildings are used for or intended <br /> <br />to be used for dwelling purposes, <br /> <br />because of inadequate <br /> <br />maintenance, dilapidation, decay, damage, faulty construction, <br /> <br />inadequate light, air, or sanitation facilities or otherwise, <br /> <br />have been determined to be unfit for human habitation and/or are <br /> <br />unsanitary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Building Department has given notice to <br /> <br />the owner of the buildings at 67 Charter Street, as evidenced by <br /> <br />Exhibit A, to appear before this City council to show cause, if <br /> <br />any, why such buildings should not be declared to be a public <br /> <br />nuisance and abated in accordance with the provisions of Chapter <br /> <br />9 of the Redwood City Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has received extensive evidence <br /> <br />that the buildings at 67 Charter Street have become dilapidated <br /> <br />and have numerous fire code, housing code, and health and safety <br /> <br />code violations; <br /> <br />9695 <br />
