6.3 Section -Claims and Warrants <br />A. Approve warrants dated through February 12, 2007 and usual and necessary <br />payments through February 26, 2007. MINUTE ORDER 07-026 <br />*********************************************************************************************************** <br />7. YEAR TWO REVIEW OF CITY PRIORITIES 2006-2008 <br />Mayor Pierce stated that the goal is to set the City of Redwood City's priorities for the <br />year to best meet the needs of the people who live and work in Redwood City. Review <br />of the existing guidelines and priorities will be done so that the City Council can <br />provide overall direction for the staff members to carry out the activities of the city. <br />This is the second year of a two-year budget cycle. Work will be done on the <br />overarching guidelines and then proceed to the specific priority areas and bullet <br />points. Proposed priority programs or specific tasks from Council Members will be <br />placed on a separate list for voting later in the meeting. Items receiving a sufficient <br />amount of support will be forwarded to staff for research on budget implications and <br />more information on the proposal to be considered later during the budget study <br />sessions in June. <br />Mayor Pierce then introduced Facilitator Shauna Wilson who led the Council through <br />the session and Maria Theresa who provided descriptive notes during the session. <br />Facilitator Wilson then proceeded and Council provided input with discussion on <br />Economic Development, child care opportunities within development, the <br />Pedestrian/Bike Friendly topic, and Historic Preservation. <br />Assistant City Manager/CDS Director Ingram gave a status report on City <br />accomplishments within the guidelines and priorities.
