MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST - <br />A. Legislation (information only) -This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 5-2007. Council may direct staff to act on positions <br />taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus available in <br />City Clerk's Department). <br />B. City Council Member Report of Conference/Meeting Attendance <br />C. Council Member Ira -stated that the Finance Committee met with Financial <br />Services Director Ponty and is developing preliminary recommendations to <br />increase the business tax. Council will not consider this topic until outreach to the <br />community, specifically, the business community, is done and feedback received. <br />Any increase would require voter approval. <br />D. Council Member Howard -announced the E-waste program sponsored by the <br />Pride and Beautification Committee and Public Works Services. The event is <br />scheduled for February 24 and 25 a the Municipal Services Building. <br />9. ADJOURNMENT - 10:35 p.m. <br />M/S Ira/Bain to adjourn in memory of Jose Barrales.
