YEAR TWO REVIEW OF CITY PRIORITIES 2006 -2008
Mayor Pierce stated that the goal is to set the City of Redwood City's priorities for the
year to best meet the needs of the people who live and work in Redwood City. Review
of the existing guidelines and priorities will be done so that the City Council can
provide overall direction for the staff members to carry out the activities of the city.
This is the second year of a two -year budget cycle. Work will be done on the
overarching guidelines and then proceed to the specific priority areas and bullet
points. Proposed priority programs or specific tasks from Council Members will be
placed on a separate list for voting later in the meeting. Items receiving a sufficient
amount of support will be forwarded to staff for research on budget implications and
more information on the proposal to be considered later during the budget study
sessions in June.
Mayor Pierce then introduced Facilitator Shauna Wilson who led the Council through
the session and Maria Theresa who provided descriptive notes during the session.
JOINT CITY COUNCIL /PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY FEBRUARY 12, 2007
PRIORITY SETTING SESSION PAGE 4
MEETING MINUTES
MINUTE BOOK NO. 61
Page 331
