Library Director Genesy stated that this is the second community One Community - <br />One Book program designed to get people reading and talking about books. <br />Throughout the month of March, an interactive program of activities, discussions, <br />presentations, and fun for all ages will occur as we building a great community <br />together. He explained the reason for choosing Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 as the <br />book for the Big Read and handed out information on the event. <br />6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR -CITY COUNCIL <br />Bridget Chen, current Miss Redwood City and Amber Nunn, Redwood City's <br />Outstanding Teen thanked the Council for all its support of the program, the wonderful <br />experience, and the once in a lifetime opportunity to represent Redwood City where <br />the Weather is best by Government Test. They further mentioned the various activities <br />they have participated in during the past year while inviting the Council to attend the <br />crowning of the new Miss Redwood City and Outstanding Teen on March 11 at <br />Sequoia High School. <br />Janet Borgens announced two events: the annual crab and shrimp feed sponsored by <br />the Optimists Club of Redwood City on March 10 at 6:00 p.m.; and the Peninsula <br />Sunrise Rotary Annual Irish Night on March 17 at 5:30 to be held at the Veterans <br />Memorial Center. <br />Cherlene Wright announced that on Saturday, March 3, 2:00 p.m. at the Veterans <br />Memorial Senior Center there would be an Arbor Day observance honoring Betty <br />Moran. <br />M/S Hartnett/Foust to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances <br />by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. Item 6.1.C <br />was removed for separate consideration due to Council Member Aguirre's Conflict of <br />Interest in serving on the Shelter Network Board. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous roll call vote with Council Member Bain abstaining on Item 6.1.A due <br />to his absence at that meeting. <br />6.1 Section -Motions - <br />A. Approve the Joint City Council and Redevelopment Agency meeting minutes of <br />February 5, 2007 as submitted. MINUTE ORDER 07-027 <br />B.
