7. BOARDS, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS - <br />A. Housing and Human Concerns Committee (HHCC) Workplan Overview -for <br />information only <br />Housing and Human Concerns Committee Chairperson Kevin Bondonno gave the <br />presentation (PowerPoint Presentation on file) which explained the mission <br />statement, overall goals, top priorities, answered questions, and received <br />feedback from Council. <br />8. Staff Report <br />A. Water Supply Assessment for the proposed Peninsula Park Project <br />Public Works Superintendent Rosas explained the Government Code and that the <br />report responds to the answer of whether there is sufficient water to meet the <br />projected demands of the project in addition to the existing customers and any <br />other project mentioned in the Urban water Management Plan. <br />PWS Superintendent Rosas responded to questions and request for clarification <br />on various processes and the Urban Water Management Plan. <br />Recommendation: <br />M/S Foust/Aguirre to approve the Water Supply Assessment for the proposed <br />Peninsula Park Project pursuant to State of California Water Code § 10910(g)(1). <br />The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. MINUTE ORDER 07-033 <br />9. PUBLIC HEARING <br />A. Recommendations from Tree Policy Task Force -Next Steps <br />Public Works Superintendent Mann explained the background and introduced <br />Task Force members present at the meeting. He further explained the six <br />recommendations recommended for implementation in the short term. <br />Mayor Pierce opened the public hearing. <br />Public Comment: <br />William Warhurst stated that the important element in planning a program is to <br />think about the future. He stated that what was learned is that the trees are not <br />the problem; it is the lack of planning adequately to provide enough space, and <br />planting the appropriate tree in the appropriate position.
