Housing and Human Concerns Committee (HHCC) Workplan Overview -for information only Housing and Human Concerns Committee Chairperson Kevin Bondonno gave the presentation (PowerPoint Presentation on file) which explained the mission statement, overall goals, top priorities, answered questions, and received feedback from Council. 8. Staff Report A. Water Supply Assessment for the proposed Peninsula Park Project Public Works Superintendent Rosas explained the Government Code and that the report responds to the answer of whether there is sufficient water to meet the projected demands of the project in addition to the existing customers and any other project mentioned in the Urban water Management Plan. PWS Superintendent Rosas responded to questions and request for clarification on various processes and the Urban Water Management Plan. Recommendation: M/S Foust/Aguirre to approve the Water Supply Assessment for the proposed Peninsula Park Project pursuant to State of California Water Code § 10910(g)(1). The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. MINUTE ORDER 07-033 9. PUBLIC HEARING A. Recommendations from Tree Policy Task Force -Next Steps Public Works Superintendent Mann explained the background and introduced Task Force members present at the meeting. He further explained the six recommendations recommended for implementation in the short term. Mayor Pierce opened the public hearing. Public Comment: William Warhurst stated that the important element in planning a program is to think about the future. He stated that what was learned is that the trees are not the problem; it is the lack of planning adequately to provide enough space, and planting the appropriate tree in the appropriate position. His concern is that the recommendation does not set forth a Council policy that trees need to be planted with care for the future.
