vote. <br /> <br />M/S Ira/Hartnett to approve Police Chief's recommendation to dedicate the funds to the <br />procurement of law enforcement related equipment and training. The motion passed by a <br />unanimous voice vote by those present. MINUTE ORDER 01-138 <br /> <br />10. STUDY SESSION- <br /> <br />Ae <br /> <br />Roadway Management Program, or, what is the condition of our streets? <br />Informational report regarding the Roadway Management Program, and get input <br />from the Council regarding the effectiveness of the program; (701) <br /> <br />Associate Engineer Saber Sarwary gave an extensive report and PowerPoint presentation <br />outlining the Redwood City roadway condition, streets in need of reconstruction, Roadway <br />Management Program, and where we will be in five to ten years. Examples of streets and <br />their ratings was shown. An explanation of why it is important to maintain the good and <br />very good streets was shown as well. <br /> <br />Public Comment: <br /> <br />Rudy Luca asked if residents calling in for status of street repairs are given responses. He <br />also asked if more than one contract or contractor is used in the program and why streets <br />are ripped open and left open for long periods of time. <br /> <br />Paul Muscat asked whether the small streets below 30 PCI are eligible for grant money. If <br />not, what criteria is used for allotting General Fund money. <br /> <br />Dennis Logic encouraged staffto place the report on the webpage and possibly include as a <br />mailer. <br /> <br />Council complimented staff on a thorough report and consensus was for staff to provide a <br />written follow-up report to respond to any questions. <br /> <br />11.
