Kelly on Behalf of Stephen Pettit <br /> Recommendation <br /> Staff recommends the re�ection of subject claim. <br /> Background <br /> This claim is being brought to Council because if this clairn results in a monetary <br /> settlement, it is possible that the settlement cauld ex�eed $15,000. According tc resolution <br /> no. 14595, if an amount to be paid for a general liability claim exceeds$15,000,any denial, <br /> allowance, allowance in part, settlemen#, or compramise must be approved by Councif. <br /> On March 21, 2006, traffic afficers from Redwood City and several other agencies were <br /> conducting "rolfing lane closures"while participating in a funeral procession in San Mateo. <br /> Deputy Pettit of the County of San Mateo Sherriff's Department stopped ahead of <br /> Redwood City Police Officer Steven Barker who was unable to stop. Barker's motarcycle <br /> struck the back of Pettit's motorcycle resulting in injuries to Pettit.
