<br />ATTACHMENT 5 <br /> <br />DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION MEETING <br /> <br />February 6, 2006 <br />5:30PM <br /> <br />Q: The Dick and D~le sign and Roy's Cleaners, how are they considered historical? <br />A: The signs are part of the city's character. It is decided with national criteria that the city <br />can grant historical status. <br /> <br />Q: "A" frame signs that are in the sign ordinance, is this to regulate and limit realtors <br />for the number of signs they can place <br />A: The downtown has certain areas that "A "frame signs can be placed. Legally real estate <br />has special privileges that are national regulations. <br /> <br />Q: Is the new sign ordinace going to simplify and speed up the permitting process? <br />A: The sign ordinacebreaks down signs into specific areas to expedite the permitting <br />process. It is suggested that a property owner have a sign contractor contact the <br />planning department or take a photo of your business with and bring it down to City Hall <br />and discuss your sign with a planner to also help expedite the process. <br /> <br />7A <br />Page 60 <br />
