',' <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the OLMer.". ~r <br /> <br />April 23, 2007 <br /> <br />Subject <br />Final Acceptance - 2005-2006 Street Overlay Project <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Accept the 2005-2006 Street Overlay Project, and authorize the release of payment bond <br />and retention according to City procedures. <br /> <br />Background <br />On September 11, 2006, the City Council awarded the construction contract for 2005-2006 <br />Street Overlay Project to G. Bortolotto & Co., Inc. of San Carlos, California for their low bid <br />of $887,605.39. <br /> <br />This project is part of the Roadway Management System Program, an on-going pavement <br />improvement program. The roadways listed below were repaired and resurfaced with a <br />new asphalt pavement overlay. <br />1. Whipple Avenue - EI Camino Real to Veterans Boulevard <br />2. Industrial Way - Whipple Avenue to north City limit <br />3. Alameda de las Pulgas - De Anza Avenue to Eaton Avenue <br /> <br />The project has been successfully completed in accordance with the plans and <br />specifications for a total cost of $907,788.93. One change order was issued in the amount <br />of $20,183.54 (2% of the project cost) for the adjustment of final quantities and <br />supplemental work including the addition of bicycle lanes on Industrial Way. <br /> <br />Alternatives <br />Council may elect not to accept the project which would be contrary to prior action. <br /> <br />~~~~ <br /> <br />Saber Sarwary, P.E. <br />Senior Civil Engineer <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Applicable Federal Surface Transportation Program grant funding in the amount of <br />$365,000.00 reduces the City's cost for this project to $542,788.93.
