<br />7A <br />Page 18 <br /> <br />intersecting streets, or of the intersecting back edge of the sidewalk with the edges of <br />the driveway or alley, as the case may be, fifteen (15) feet along said edges, and by <br />closing said triangle with a line connecting the termini of said project lines. Where no <br />sidewalk exists, the triangle shall be projected using the property line or lines as needed <br />in place of the back edge of the sidewalk. As used in this definition, "back edge of the <br />sidewalk" refers to the sidewalk edge closest to the property line. <br /> <br />WALL SIGN: A sign painted on or attached to a building wall, which extends not more <br />than twelve (12) indles from the building face. A sign extending over twelve (12) inches <br />from a building shall be considered a projecting sign. <br /> <br />WARNING SIGN: A sign that conveys a message of caution, danger or warning. <br />Examples of warning signs include, but are not limited to, "Danger High Voltage," "No <br />Dumping," and "No Trespassing" signs. <br /> <br />WINDOW AREA: The area within any window pane or group of window panes <br />contained entirely within glazing separators (muting mullions, piers, columns, etc.) of <br />one and one quarter (1 ~) inches or greater in width. Multiple window panes divided by <br />glazing separators less than one and one quarter (1 ~) inches in width shall be <br />considered to be a single window area. <br /> <br />WORKING DAY: A day on which City Hall is open to the public during normal business <br />hours. <br /> <br />ZONING ORDINANCE: Ordinance No. 1130, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, as <br />amended, revised or superseded from time to time. <br /> <br />DIVISION THREE. PERMITS <br /> <br />Sec. 3.61. PERMIT REQUIREMENT: Unless otherwise provided in this Article, <br />no person shall install, erect, display, alter, move or replace any nonexempt sign without <br />first obtaining a sign permit issued by the City in accordance with this Division. In <br />processing a sign permit application, the City shall not evaluate the graphic design or <br />message of the sign face; this provision does not prevent the City from denying a permit <br />for a billboard or for a sign displaying off-site commercial messages. A permit is <br />required whenever there is a change of use or a change of establishment at the <br />property on which the sign is placed. which also involves a change to the signage or <br />copy on a permanent sign. Signage rights and duties apply to specific uses at specific <br />locations and cannot be transferred from one location to another. <br /> <br />Sec. 3.62. NOTICES: Written notices required within this Article shall be <br />deemed given on the earliest of the following: when actually delivered, one day after <br />deposit with an overnight delivery service or three (3) days after mailing (first class <br />postage).
