~XHIBIT "B" <br /> <br /> General Description of Improvements and Required Maintenance <br /> Redwood Shores Landscape Maintenance District No. 1995-1 <br /> <br />Areas 1 - 4 <br /> <br /> Areas I - 4 comprises approximately 9.84 acres of landscaped area along <br />the western bank of that area described as the Western Lagoon in the Lido <br />Neighborhood Specific Plan. Landscape treatment will include shrubs, trees, <br />perennial beds, and ground covers. Landscape planting, earth berming or <br />other screening methods will be used, where feasible, to mitigate the visual <br />impact of power line tower bases. A pedestrian and bicycle trail will traverse <br />the length of Areas 1 - 4. Some signs will be required. <br /> <br /> All planted areas will be maintained pursuant to the class "B" service <br />code described at the end of this Exhibit C. Such service will include, but is <br />not limited to, irrigation, periodic applications of fertilizers and soil <br />conditioners, periodic applications of wood chips 2" - 4" in depth to prevent <br />weed growth and retain soil moisture, periodic pruning, periodic pest control <br />and weed maintenance, and periodic plant replacement due to disease, pest <br />damage and loss stemming from natural causes, vandalism and pedestrian <br />and bicycle traffic. <br /> <br /> Trail maintenance will include trash pick up and cleaning as needed. <br />Periodic trail and sign replacement or repair will also be needed depending on <br />traffic and other factors that may cause periodic damage. <br /> <br /> Maintenance will include litter pick-up, emptying of trash receptacles <br />and removal and disposal of debris. <br /> <br /> Consumable supplies will include water, fertilizer, pesticides and <br />herbicides, shrub and tree replacement as needed, soil additives, occasional <br />pipe and irrigation system repair or replacement, trash receptacle liners, <br />allocable amortization of landscape maintenance equipment used in <br />Redwood Shores and fuel. <br /> <br />Area 5 <br /> <br /> Area 5 comprises approximately 2.66 acres of landscaped area. <br />Landscape treatment will include hardy shrubs and trees needing little <br />maintenance, including native plants and grasses to the extent possible. <br /> <br /> A pedestrian trail will traverse the length of Area 5. Trash receptacles <br />will be provided, and some signs may be required. <br /> <br /> All planted areas will be maintained pursuant to the class "C" service <br />code described at the end of this Exhibit C.
