An additional ten percent (10%) of sign <br /> a�ea shall be allowed for non-commercial messages. <br /> B. General buildinq sign regulations. All signs which are a�tach�d to or <br /> mounteci on a building are subject to the following general regulations: <br /> 1. Location. Each building sign shall be dispiayed only on a building <br /> facade which`"faces a street, alley or parking lot, <br /> 2. Projec:ian. Any sign projecfiing t�vo (2) inches ar mare from a <br /> buifd�rg wafl shal[ have a ve�#ica� clearance o�a� feast eight {8}�eet above grade. <br /> 3. Placement. Unless otherwise provided in the Redwood City Code, <br /> ihe Redwood City Zoning Ordinance or in an adopted precise pfan, na sign shall <br /> be placed in a manner whereby any portion of ti�e sign extends above a roofline. <br /> Sec. 3.124. REGU�ATIONS FOR PARTICULAR TYPES OF SIGNS: The <br /> fo[lowing provisions apply to particuiar physical types of signs described as: <br /> A. Awning and canopy siqns. <br /> 1. Number. Establishments may display up to three (3) awning or <br /> canopy signs. <br /> 2. Illumination. If signage iliumination affects the entire canopy or <br /> awning, fhen the entire surface of the awning or canopy shall be included in <br /> calculating the sign area. <br /> B. Blade siqns and under-canop s�. <br /> 1. Number. Establishments may dispfay up to three {3) blade or <br /> under canopy signs. <br /> 2. Size. No blade sign or under-canopy sign shal! exceed six (6) <br /> square feet in area per side. <br /> 3. Placement. No blade sign may extend more than four (4) feet from <br /> the face ot a building. Each blade sign or under canopy sign shall be set back at <br /> least two (2) feet fram the curb or paving of the nearest sfireet. Lowermost edge <br /> of blade sign shall be a minimum of eight {8) feet from grade level. <br /> C. Drive-throuqh service siqns. <br /> 1. Eligibility.
