9A Page 11 ATTACHMENT 3 Annual Action Plan Zao�-Zaos COMMUNITY OBJECTIVES & PRIORITY STRATEGIES FY 2085-2018 The goal of the City of Redwoad City is to provide safe and sanitary hausing opportunities in suitab[e locations for all segments of the population. The target group to be assisted under each goal is households with incomes at or below 80°Io of inedian income for San Mateo County. The City's 2045-2010 Annual Action Plan demonstrates a relationship between the Consalidated Plan Priorities and activifies selected for funding during fihe first year of the �lan. Th2 major them� �f this C�nsolidat�d Plan is "Housing production and basic human needs". The proposed activities, to be undertaken with CDBG and HOME funds, reflect the City's strategy to #arget funds which integrate a continuum of activities ranging from homeless assistance to economic development and permanent housing. All aativities proposed ta be funded will meet ane or more of the City's Consolidated Plan priorities. The Ci#y has identified a number of programs that will be delivered under each Priority. The Priority Strategies are: Priority Strateqv # 1 — Expansion and preservation af affordable housinq — The goal of the City is to increase the affordable housing stflck and provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing in adequate suppfy and at affordabi(ity levels for a wide range of residents from !ow incorne to poverty level. Prioritv Stratec�v# 2_- Provide public service activities thaf help to reduce povercy, pre�Pnt to k��i� human needs including food, health, safety, survival, independent living, and self-sufficiency. Priority Strategy # 3 — Implement non-housinq communitv development activities to provide econamic and phvsical improvements and facilities for social proqrams in low income nei�hborhoods - The City's goal is to promote economic and job development activities for low income persons, and facilitate capital improvements that improves the quality of life in low income neighborhoods, and provide a variety of public facilities where anti-poverty and supportive intervention services can be delivered for a range of special needs populations. PROPOSED USE t�F FUNDS For 2007-20Q8: The City of Redwood City wi11 partner with non-profit organizations and County agencies to undertake numerous programs and activities that meet the three identifiied Priorities of fihe Cansolidated Plar� during fiscal year 2007-2008. The timeline of completion of these projects and programs is by June 30, 2008.
