The purpose af CICAG is to provide a <br /> caoperative and cost-effective means of responding to cauntywide planning mandates <br /> from the state. C/CAG also provides a forum for agencies to coElaborate on comman <br /> issues. The City has been a voting member of C/CAG since 1991 and is currently <br /> represented by Councilwoman Diane Howard. <br /> C/CAG programs $100 million in state and fiederai transpartation funds {Congestion <br /> Mana�gement Pian and AB434/Transpartation Funds fQr Clean Air) ann�aally received by <br /> San Mateo County. The C/CAG Annual I�eport is available for review in <br /> the City C�erk's affice. Recent accomplishments inciude the develapment af the <br /> Countywide Transportafian Plan and the Transi� Oriented Development lncentive <br /> Pragram. Additionally, C/CAG has received numerous county, regional, state, and <br /> national awards. <br /> Many of the C1CAG programs result firom stafe mandat�;s that require rt�ur�icipal <br /> campliance. Access to CICAGs pragrams pravides the City a cost-effective means ta <br /> comply with these mandates. As well, C/CAG members directly participate in the <br /> process that distributes $100 miliion in state and federal funds received by San Matea <br /> County. Members receive assistance to identify, appl� for, and retain applicabte <br /> funding. C/CAG provides a forum for intergovernmental and regianal information <br /> exchange. C/Cf�G provides state lobbyist support. <br /> The City is required to renew the Jaint Powers Agreement ev�ry four y�ars to continue <br /> membership in C/CAG. As well, the Joint Pawers Agreement must be signed by a <br /> majority of the twenty cities with a majority of ti�e population to re-establish C/CAG as <br />
