<br />AUGUST 1982 <br /> <br />f' <br /> <br />DATA SERVICES TECHNICIAN <br /> <br />---- <br /> <br />$1257 - 1295 - 1333 - 1376 - 1418 <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />Under general supervision to perform computer operations to <br />record or verify data for entry into a computer system and <br />peripheral equipment; to assist Data Systems Manager in the <br />ordering, receiving, installation, and maintenance of CRT <br />Terminals; act as backup computer operator, and to do related <br />work as required. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES <br /> <br />Performs data entry on CRT terminals and operates peripheral <br />equipment, including burster and decollator; loads tapes or <br />other input and sets up printer for specific formats; provides <br />word processing training and support processing training and <br />support to general users; assist users with terminal problems; <br />runs the file save; screen phone calls to protect other data <br />services from interruptions; performs various related clerical <br />tasks as required. <br /> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br /> <br />Knowledge of data processing practices and equipment; knowledge <br />of methods and problems of operating data entry equipment; off- <br />line burster, decollator and CRT; ability to diagnose program <br />difficulties. <br /> <br />ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING <br /> <br />Equivalent to completion of the 12~h grade, junior college level <br />courses in data processing desirable. Ability to learn the - <br />operation of data entry and verification devices; ability to <br />follow oral and written instructions. <br /> <br />"EXHIBIT A" <br />
